Role Summary: This role supports the onsite Forward - Deployed Engineer on the Retail Ops workstream, extending engineering capacity on the same tech stack so the team can move faster on prototype build-out, integration work, and iteration cycles. This is a build-focused, offshore role working in close coordination with the FDE rather than a standalone, client - facing position.
Key Responsibilities: Build and extend features on the Retail Ops prototype in parallel with the FDE, working from the same codebase, environment and tech stack.
Implement calculation logic integrations with the client's data-product/ DBT layer, and/or in - app configuration options for business rules, as directed by the FDE and client architecture guidance.
Pick up well-scoped tickets and components handed off from the FDE - UI screens, API endpoints, data models, or backend services - and deliver them to a demoable standard.
Participate in daily syncs with the FDE and engagement lead to stay aligned on shifting requirements as the prototype iterates toward client sign-off.
Write clean, maintainable code consistent with the conventions established for the target application (agentic app or conventional UI + backend, per the final direction chosen).
Flag technical blockers or ambiguities early so the FDE can resolve them with the client without slowing the build.
Required Skills & Experience:
Full -stack or backend - learning development experience, comfortable working from tickets/specs with moderate day -to day autonomy.
Working knowledge of the target tech stack: AWS, microservices architecture, React, Rest/GraphQL API's, DynamoDB (or equivalent NoSQL store).
Experience working in distributed/offshore teams with overlap-hour collaboration with onsite counterparts.
Exposure to data-layer integration (e.g., dbt- based data products) is plus.
Solid communication skills for async and live coordination with the FDE and engagement lead.
