Quality Control Technician

Location: Co Kildare

Optimize Recruitment is currently recruiting a QC Technician on behalf of an established manufacturing client.

This is a hands-on laboratory-based position supporting day-to-day quality control activities across raw materials and finished products. The successful candidate will carry out routine testing, maintain accurate quality records and help ensure products meet required standards and specifications.

The Role

• Carry out routine QC testing on raw materials and finished products
• Conduct laboratory testing including pH, Brix and turbidity
• Review materials and samples against required specifications
• Prepare standards and samples for laboratory testing
• Maintain accurate QC documentation and laboratory records
• Support HACCP, GMP and GLP requirements
• Assist with the calibration and general upkeep of laboratory equipment
• Manage retained samples, reagents and laboratory supplies
• Prepare samples for external testing where required
• Identify quality issues and support continuous improvement within the QC function
• Work closely with production and other internal teams on quality-related matters

The Ideal Candidate

• Degree-level qualification in a Science, Chemistry, Food Science or related discipline preferred, or relevant equivalent experience
• Previous experience within a QC, laboratory or manufacturing environment would be advantageous
• Sensory evaluation experience is an advantage
• Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office
