Senior Cloud Engineer (Java/AWS)

Requirements

Must have:

- Over 10 years of professional software development experience - Strong expertise in Java and the Spring framework - Extensive experience in developing REST APIs - Practical knowledge of Kubernetes for orchestrating containers - Proven track record of building and deploying applications on AWS - Familiarity with Micronaut is advantageous - Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices preferred - Understanding of other cloud platforms and services is a plus - Previous experience in agile development methodologies is advantageous - Background in retail financial markets or highly regulated industries preferred - Bachelors degree in computer science is preferred - AWS certification is preferred

Responsibilities:

- Design and develop cloud-native services and composite APIs on AWS - Construct containerized applications using Java Spring Boot and Micronaut - Oversee and orchestrate containerized applications using Kubernetes to ensure high availability and scalability - Implement secure and observable solutions utilizing AWS services - Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment processes - Facilitate self-service platforms, tools, and frameworks for development teams - Collaborate within agile teams and present solutions to a variety of stakeholders - Enhance platform reliability through testing, monitoring, and optimization efforts - Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and learning
