Senior Data Engineer - Java Spring Boot, AWS

Requirements

Must have:

- Over 10 years of experience in data engineering or a similar discipline - Proficiency in SQL for data querying and validation, including optimization and performance tuning - Advanced skills in SnowSQL and familiarity with Snowflake databases - Demonstrated expertise with AWS services, particularly Batch and S3 - At least 5 years of experience in developing ETL applications using Java and Spring Batch - Experience with job scheduling tools, especially Control-M preferred - Strong data analysis capabilities and extensive data modeling experience in Dimensional or Data Vault models - Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Git/Stash, Ansible, and Docker - Background with Agile methodologies including Kanban and Scrum - Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and deliver results in a high-paced setting, possessing strong interpersonal skills - Preferred: Experience in Python development - Preferred: Knowledge of containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS Lambda development - Preferred: In-depth Snowflake expertise beyond fundamental usage - Preferred: Financial domain experience - Note: ETL experience must be in Java Spring Batch; Informatica-only ETL experience is not relevant for this position.

- Collaborate with technology stakeholders to gather requirements and propose solutions - Design technical solutions that are scalable and aligned with business objectives and architecture roadmap - Apply test-driven development and continuous integration and delivery practices as part of DevOps - Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality - Adjust to new technologies and identify areas of technical debt, proposing remediation strategies - Oversee production rollout operations for both operational and analytical databases - Foster clear communication and collaboration with extended teams across various squads.
