Requirements
Must have:
- U.S. Citizenship required. - No Dual citizenship allowed. - Active TS/SCI security clearance required to start. - Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Data Science, Geography, Math, Machine Learning, or Statistics) with nine years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree with seven years of experience. - Equivalent experience may substitute for educational requirements. - Additional certifications in data engineering, cloud computing, geospatial technology, or cybersecurity are advantageous. - Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Go, Rust, R, SQL, or similar. - 10 years of experience in roles related to data analysis, engineering, machine learning, or software development. - Must be willing to travel and work 100% on-site. - Ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs on Navy vessels. - Familiarity with Navy safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve operational challenges for the Navy using data and analytics. - Create, develop, and deploy data pipelines and analytical tools for naval applications. - Conduct exploratory data analysis and develop algorithms as needed. - Standardize and normalize data for interoperability purposes. - Work with various data formats including CSV, JSON, XML, Parquet, and ORC. - Implement and oversee data pipelines and analytics in live operational settings. - Monitor and enhance data pipeline performance to ensure reliability. - Establish event streaming architectures using tools such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or RabbitMQ. - Utilize distributed computing technologies like AWS Lambda, Dask, or Spark. - Leverage cloud-native solutions such as AWS S3, RDS, EFS, SNS, and SQS. - Employ data frameworks like AirByte, Apache Airflow, dbt, and Snowflake for pipeline management. - Utilize GIS tools for handling geospatial data such as ArcGIS and PostGIS. - Create containerized setups using Docker or Kubernetes. - Apply cybersecurity best practices within secure DoD applications. - Effectively communicate findings and engineering solutions to both technical and mission stakeholders.
