Senior Data Engineer - SQL, Python

Requirements

Must have:

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline. - Over 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or similar positions. - Demonstrated proficiency with Snowflake for developing and optimizing data pipelines. - Strong expertise in utilizing dbt for modular transformations and Fivetran for automated ingestion. - Comprehensive understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and performance tuning. - Practical experience with AWS cloud services, particularly S3, for data integration and storage. - Familiarity with data governance tools such as Alation or Atlan for cataloging, lineage, and stewardship. - Excellent SQL skills coupled with a comfort level in scripting languages like Python. - Preferred: - Masters degree in a relevant field. - Experience with real-time or streaming technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink. - Awareness of data security, compliance, and access controls best practices. - Background in AI/ML workflows and integrating engineering solutions with machine learning pipelines. - Experience with modern visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker to facilitate self-service analytics. - Proven ability to mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to best engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

- Design, construct, and sustain scalable data pipelines and workflows in Snowflake, employing dbt for modular transformations and Fivetran for seamless data ingestion. - Architect and enhance the enterprise data warehouse, implementing best practices in data modeling and performance optimization. - Collaborate with governance teams to document cataloging, lineage, and stewardship, while upholding data quality, security, and compliance standards. - Work closely with business and analytics teams to convert requirements into robust data solutions. - Leverage AWS services, specifically S3, for data storage and integration, assuring reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency. - Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
