Senior Data Scientist - Python, Machine Learning

Requirements

Must have:

- Advanced degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.

• Over 3 years of demonstrated experience in building and deploying statistical and machine learning models.
• Minimum 3 years of proficiency in Python for data manipulation and insights extraction from large datasets.
• In-depth knowledge of tree-based and boosting algorithms (e.g., XGBoost, LGBM) is essential.
• Proven experience with cloud data platforms and modern model and data pipeline technologies.
• Strong SQL skills along with data-wrangling capabilities to conduct analyses from the ground up.
• Familiarity with MLOps technologies and the entire machine learning lifecycle.
• Experience in model deployment and API maintenance using Python and Flask.
• Knowledge of version control software and methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Prior experience in a startup environment and/or consumer lending is preferred.
• Must comply with the companys background check policies.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze intricate data sets to minimize costs and enhance customer experiences.

• Create robust systems for gathering, extracting, and preparing data from various sources.
• Assess call center operations and consumer experiences using measurable metrics.
• Develop, implement, and sustain machine learning models for credit scoring and operational optimization, overseeing the entire ML process from development to production.
• Identify opportunities to apply machine learning insights throughout the organization.
• For business challenges, pinpoint relevant data sources, construct processes, and develop models to address them.
• Maintain oversight of model governance and compliance standards for all production applications.
• Understand key operational performance indicators and report on trends and patterns.
• Present machine learning insights to business stakeholders effectively.
• Collaborate with various departments including Operations, Compliance, IT, and Finance.
• Cultivate relationships with external vendors and assess their data-related products.
• Mentor junior team members and share expertise within the department.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate professionalism and punctuality while carrying out responsibilities.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
