Requirements

Must have:

- High School diploma with over 10 years of experience in application development (or equivalent experience) - Active Secret clearance and ability to obtain and maintain DEA suitability - Proficient in SQL and knowledgeable about Kimball dimensional modeling - Strong skills in Python, including Pandas, SQLAlchemy, and module structure with unit testing - Experience with PySpark or willing to quickly gain proficiency - Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure or AWS - Prior experience in modernizing legacy ETL systems is a significant advantage - Ability to read and redesign SSIS/SQL-based ETL processes - Understanding of data ingestion, transformation, and structured warehouse architecture - Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and contemporary development practices

Responsibilities:

- Absorb and comprehend the existing SQL Server structure modeled on Kimball principles over time - Deconstruct SSIS packages and transition them into Python-based modular ETL pipelines - Develop reusable Python frameworks for the processes of extraction, transformation, and loading - Start integrating PySpark to facilitate scalable transformation patterns - Assist in outlining a future migration strategy (Databricks, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, etc.) - Enhance practices related to orchestration, dependency management, and data quality - Identify areas of technical debt and modernize outdated ETL components - Collaborate with Enterprise Data Warehouse Subject Matter Experts to grasp business logic and data lineage - Create documentation and establish repeatable procedures for modernization
