Requirements

Must have:

- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience - Strong proficiency in supporting databases on Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) or ExaData/ExaCC/ExaCS - Practical experience with Oracle versions 12.1 through 19c - Skills in database installation, upgrades, migrations, patching, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions - Familiarity with Oracle OEM for database monitoring and troubleshooting - Proficiency in backup and restore procedures using RMAN - Knowledge of database capacity planning techniques - Experience in monitoring and analyzing performance metrics to optimize database resources - Familiarity with fail-over testing and disaster recovery drills - In-depth knowledge of Goldengate or Data Guard replication - Understanding of other open-source database platforms - Proficient in scripting with Python, Shell, and PowerShell - Experience designing automated deployments - Familiarity with Unix (AIX) and Linux operating systems - Experience using Informatica tools - Knowledge of change management systems, particularly Service Now

Responsibilities:

- Design, install, maintain, and upgrade production databases for the enterprise - Provide technical expertise in database technology - Ensure optimal performance of the organizations database environment - Collaborate with clients, business analysts, systems programmers, and application developers to address information flow issues - Monitor and analyze database performance metrics - Allocate database resources for maximum performance - Analyze business requirements for server and database sizing - Identify database performance bottlenecks and recommend remediation actions - Implement database backup solutions and perform restoration tasks as needed - Design, implement, and test disaster recovery solutions - Create and implement high availability database solutions including clustering - Manage user provisioning and security configurations - Conduct database security monitoring and audits - Execute database tuning tasks - Design and implement enterprise-level database systems - Install and configure database software - Manage database upgrades and patching processes - Oversee migrations from legacy systems to new environments - Perform OS troubleshooting and server capacity planning - Design and manage logical database schemas - Control code deployments to higher database environments - Facilitate data movement for ETL and other operational needs - Administer ETL tools, specifically Informatica - Configure enterprise database monitoring solutions

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our team based in Berkeley Heights, NJ. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity lasting 9 or more months, requiring on-site presence five days a week. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and optimization of our enterprise databases. By collaborating closely with various stakeholders, you will support our mission to enhance our database environment.

We offer competitive hourly compensation within the range of $73.00 to $74.00, and you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our database systems.
