Job Title: Senior Developer – Credit Execution Team Employment Type: Contract (Hybrid) with potential for extension or conversion to full-time employee (FTE). For extension or FTE conversion, candidates must reside within 50 miles of OneMain corporate offices in Wilmington, DE or Baltimore, MD.

Location: Hybrid.

Role Summary We are seeking a skilled Senior Developer to join the Credit Execution team. You will drive the incremental transition of our on-premise decisioning stack to a modern, cloud-native architecture while supporting loan decisioning implementations across diverse use cases. This modernization enables continuous business value through enhanced development, testing, and deployment processes. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration skills to optimize platforms and deliver value throughout the journey. You will thrive in a diverse team supporting multiple risk-based platforms tied to credit execution.

Key Responsibilities Collaborate with technology, credit risk, and product teams to execute the modernization roadmap. Gain deep proficiency in the existing decision engine architecture and business workflows; lead enhancement initiatives and code improvements. Identify and prioritize optimization opportunities during the platform's transition to the target cloud-native state. Lead technical discussions and propose upgrades to ensure a smooth modernization process.

Required Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related statistical field. 10+ years of experience in financial services, with direct involvement in strategy-based decisioning platforms. 8+ years of programming experience (Java, Python, etc.), with strong fundamentals in data structures and complex datasets. Strong software engineering fundamentals; ability to work across modern tech stacks, open-source tools, and off-the-shelf rule engines. Expertise in AWS Cloud, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), Java, SQL, and JSON for design and implementation.

Proven

DevOps experience in cloud environments. Demonstrated success modernizing enterprise systems to cloud-native architectures. Proficiency in Agile methodologies and incremental delivery approaches. Expertise with decision engines and rule-based systems. Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, analyze user needs, write and analyze SQL queries, and document application processes. Critical thinking, analytical thinking, teamwork, and proactive ownership.

Preferred Qualifications Prior exposure to data build tool (dbt). Located within commuting distance to Wilmington, DE.
