About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team focused on developing and enhancing our cold data storage solutions within AWS. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the design and implementation of scalable, durable, and cost-efficient distributed storage systems that operate at an unprecedented scale.
As a key member of our team, you will work on a range of projects—from high-level system architecture in Java to low-level hardware interfacing—addressing fundamental computer science challenges. Your contributions will directly impact the next generation of storage technologies, helping to build what could become the largest data storage service on the planet. This position requires a proactive, innovative mindset and a passion for solving complex engineering problems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, C++, or Python
- Extensive experience in designing and architecting large-scale, reliable, and scalable systems
- Experience leading technical teams or mentoring junior engineers
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, storage architectures, and algorithms
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle, including code reviews, source control, testing, and deployment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to conceive, design, and deliver innovative storage products and services
- Architect and develop scalable distributed storage, indexing, and query systems optimized for durability and cost-efficiency
- Lead technical investigations, prototype new technologies, and evaluate their feasibility for production deployment

- Build and optimize systems that are fault-tolerant, easy to manage, and capable of handling large-scale data workloads
