Requirements
Must have:
- We require a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or 2 years of relevant professional experience in place of a degree.
- We require at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- We need knowledge of software and firmware configuration management.
- We require experience implementing Jenkins build scripts.
- We value familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools such as GitLab, JFrog Artifactory, JIRA, and Jenkins.
- We need working knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows, particularly command-line environments.
- We require proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell scripting and Perl.
- We require the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, and U.S. citizenship is required.
- We prefer experience with IBM ClearCase and IBM ClearCase/ClearQuest/Unified Change Management (UCM).
- We value understanding of basic quality assurance concepts.
- We prefer experience supporting configuration management for both hardware and software items, including hardware UID management and software production workflow status.
- We value strong communication skills and the ability to build productive working relationships across technical levels.
Responsibilities:
- We manage the software configuration management system, including the code repository, documentation, problem reports, change requests, build artifacts, and product deliveries.
- We perform release engineering tasks to document operating parameters, verify hardware configuration compliance, and support logistics.
- We establish and uphold organization-wide software configuration standards, policies, and build procedures.
- We train developers on configuration management tools and software quality practices.
- We drive long-term process improvements and promote code reuse initiatives.
- We design and guide the architecture of configuration management tools and agile build automation solutions.
- We develop, automate, and maintain configuration management utilities for identifying, controlling, reporting, and delivering internally developed and COTS software.
- We create productivity scripts, programs, or database solutions that improve modeling and development workflows.
- We produce software builds, troubleshoot build failures, and maintain build and release processes.
- We prepare software release documentation and keep configuration management records organized and current.
- We carry out configuration management tasks for hardware and software items as needed.
