Software Development Engineer in Test

Requirements

Must have:

- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience - Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent professional background - Familiarity with both manual and automated testing on the IBM Mainframe, including TSO, CICS, Batch processing, MQ, DB2, and Scheduler technologies - Practical experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium and TestNG - Knowledge of CI/CD technologies, including Cloudbees, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, Git, JUnit, and Jira - Strong background in automated testing methodologies - Experience with backend test automation utilizing Rest Assured or Karate for API testing - Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, etc.) - Understanding of databases and SQL with the ability to write and optimize queries - Familiar with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies and on-site/offshore coordination models - Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Proven track record of working in collaborative, team-oriented environments - Commitment to ongoing learning and staying current in the field

Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for APIs, user interfaces, and backend services - Enhance existing test scripts to support regression and integration testing - Create test cases based on user stories and requirements - Conduct system integration and automated testing for new or updated applications - Identify, log, and address defects using tools such as Jira or equivalent - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, Bitbucket) - Stay informed about new software testing methodologies, tools, and technologies - Participate in story refinement and sprint planning to ensure thorough understanding of requested functionalities - Collaborate effectively within and across teams - Maintain open communication with team members and other stakeholders
