Job Title Software Development Manager Clearance TSSCI CI poly Location Herndon VA Job Type Full Time 100 onsite Target Salary Range 195000 225000 This represents the potential salary range for this position depending on education level years of experience andor certifications in addition to other position specific requirements which may impact salary Position Description Seeking an experienced Software Development Manager to join our team supporting the US Intelligence Community The Software Development Manager will lead and grow high performing engineering teams delivering mission critical software solutions In this role the Software Development Manager will guide technical strategy manage multiple development efforts and partner closely with architects stakeholders and leadership to ensure high quality on time delivery across complex products This position is ideal for a hands on technical leader who thrives at the intersection of people leadership software architecture and program execution Key Responsibilities Plan direct and coordinate all activities related to software development across multiple functional teams and product linesLead and manage multi team and cross functional engineering organizations in a fast paced mission focused environmentPrioritize and allocate projects products and resources in collaboration with architects and engineering managersDrive strategic decisions related to technology selection system design and software implementationDirect end to end software development projects ensuring delivery on schedule and in compliance with quality and performance standardsEstablish clear project plans that include product goals development strategies roles and responsibilities schedules milestones risk identification and contingency planningCommunicate effectively with executive leadership and stakeholders by providing project status updates variance justifications and technical insightsMonitor and evaluate emerging technologies and industry standards to identify opportunities for innovation and improvementManage people related responsibilities including hiring performance evaluations compensation reviews recognition and adherence to company policiesFoster a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement across engineering teamsRequired Qualifications Bachelors degree in an area relevant to the position; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree10 years of relevant professional experience including at least 4 years in a supervisory or management roleActive TSSCI or SCI eligibility and active polygraph or ability to obtain a polygraphExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non technical audiencesProven full stack software development experienceProgramming experience including but not limited to Java Python Poetry Flask etc and JavaScriptHands on experience with AWS technologies including Elasticsearch PostgreSQL EC2 S3 and DynamoDBExperience using modern development techniques and frameworks such as REST JSON Spring Spring Boot JavaScript frameworks eg jQuery Angular React and DockerProficiency with Git Jenkins Jira and ConfluenceExperience using Microsoft ProjectExperience with Agile development including project planning project schedules weekly status reporting and monthly PMR briefingsUnderstanding of CIO processes and EMO functional requirementsDesired Qualifications HUMINT functional domain knowledge and application experiencePrior experience working within the Defense Intelligence Agency DIA
