Job description
- Location: Hartford, CT (Remote candidates will be considered)
- Work Authorization: US Citizen or Green Card Holder — No Sponsorship Available
- Rate: $100/hr
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- Design and own end-to-end solution architecture for Java-based enterprise applications deployed on GCP.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable designs.
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance to development teams throughout delivery cycles.
- Define and enforce architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across cloud-native services.
- Conduct architecture reviews, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives, leveraging GCP services (GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, etc.).
- Support pre-sales or client-facing engagements as a technical SME when required.
- Mentor and develop senior engineers on architecture and design principles.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong Java/J2EE foundation.
- 3+ years in a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or senior technical leadership role.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (Professional Cloud Architect certification a plus).
- Proven experience designing microservices, event-driven, and API-first architectures.
- Strong grasp of DevOps practices — CI/CD pipelines, IaC (Terraform/Deployment Manager), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card) required. No visa sponsorship is available for this role.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, or Quarkus frameworks.
- Familiarity with data platforms and analytics services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Looker).
- Financial services, insurance, or healthcare domain knowledge.
- Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud architectures.
