SQL Database Admin

Requirements

Must have:

- Bachelors degree with nine (9) years of relevant experience, or a Masters degree with seven (7) years of experience; additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. - Extensive knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), particularly PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server, including installation, patching, and advanced SQL query optimization. - Proven expertise in performance tuning, high availability solutions (clustering/mirroring), and effective backup and recovery strategies to prevent data loss. - Understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to enhance database security. - Experience with implementing Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and

Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) to support secure enterprise applications, focusing on PostgreSQL/SQL performance. - Oversee and administer backend databases for identity and credentialing systems, ensuring complete data integrity and synchronization. - Execute stringent security measures in line with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to protect sensitive data. - Develop and implement robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to avoid loss of vital security data. - Identify and resolve database performance issues, connectivity challenges, or security threats as part of incident response. - Keep detailed documentation, maintain audit trails, and generate compliance reports for oversight authorities.
