One of our clients is seeking an experienced Application Database Administrator (DBA) to support a mission-critical application environment.The ideal candidate will bring strong SQL DBA expertise, experience supporting complex application architectures, and the ability to align technical execution with business priorities.
Serve as the primary DBA supporting a critical enterprise application running on a proprietary message-processing architecture
Manage and optimize SQL database environments with a focus on performance, reliability, and data integrity
Support multi-threaded data streaming and ensure ordered message processing across parallel data streams
Collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, and business teams to understand workflows and operational priorities
Troubleshoot and resolve database and application-related issues impacting downstream systems
Help prioritize workloads based on business needs and application dependencies
Create and maintain documentation to support continuity and long-term system stability
5+ years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator, preferably in application-focused environments
Strong knowledge of database internals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
Experience working with high-throughput or event-driven systems requiring strict message order
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with Kafka or similar streaming/message-based platforms
Background supporting proprietary or highly customized systems
Exposure to environments with parallel processing and priority-based workflows
