Requirements
Must have:
- We require a bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, along with 4+ years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Database Administrator; additional experience may substitute for a degree.
- We need strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft SQL Server across all versions and solid DBA knowledge spanning architecture, database creation, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and integration.
- We expect experience with the ServiceNow platform.
- We look for strong analytical ability and sharp technical troubleshooting skills.
- You should be able to create, update, and diagnose stored procedures.
- We need proven ability to coordinate resolution of escalated issues.
- You must understand client business needs and translate them into appropriate enhancements.
- You should be comfortable working in a complex, fast-paced environment with multiple tasks, multiple customers, and strict deadlines.
- You need to perform independently with limited supervision.
- We expect excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively on a team and across multiple projects are required.
- You should be highly motivated and capable of solving highly technical, complex problems.
- Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of Microsoft SQL Database Administrator experience.
- Preferred experience includes IT systems and software, SQL database support in AWS, regulatory environments, export-controlled data, and large-scale IT integrations.
- AWS certifications are a plus.
Responsibilities:
- We manage, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments.
- We handle installation, configuration, upgrades, backup and recovery, and high availability/disaster recovery solutions.
- We partner directly with customer stakeholders to deliver strong application support for multiple utility applications.
- We make and validate database changes tied to major programs.
- We resolve complex, high-severity, or previously unknown SQL database issues using expert-level technical knowledge.
- We work with project managers and the team to plan database implementations and conversions.
- We support our utility clients IT projects and help ensure commitments and deliverables are met.
- We may also participate in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours support.
