Job Description

We are seeking a motivated SQL Developer with hands-on experience in AWS RDS SQL performance tuning and SSIS ETL development to join our growing data engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically curious developer early in their career to work on real-world data pipelines cloud database infrastructure and mission-critical reporting systems.

You will play a key role in designing building and optimizing data solutions that power business insights ensure data accuracy and support scalable applications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Write refactor and performance-tune complex T-SQL queries stored procedures functions and views.
  • Analyze execution plans add appropriate indexing and resolve bottlenecks in high-volume environments.

  • Implement best practices for error handling transactions and query reusability.

  • Provision configure and maintain Amazon RDS instances (SQL Server PostgreSQL MySQL).

  • Manage backups restores replication Multi-AZ deployments and automated snapshots.

  • Monitor performance using CloudWatch Performance Insights and RDS Enhanced Monitoring.

  • Apply security best practices: IAM roles VPC security groups encryption at rest/transit and parameter groups.

  • Design develop and deploy SSIS packages for ETL/ELT workflows using Visual Studio and SQL Server Data Tools.

  • Implement data validation error logging restartability and package configurations.

  • Migrate legacy DTS/SSIS packages and optimize for performance and reliability.

  • Schedule and monitor SSIS jobs via SQL Server Agent or AWS SSM/Airflow.

  • Collaborate with analysts and developers to design normalized/denormalized schemas and data marts.

  • Participate in code reviews data architecture discussions and sprint planning.

  • Assist in large-scale data migrations (on-prem cloud cross-database).

  • Build reusable ETL frameworks for recurring data loads.

  • Support BI teams by creating staging tables views and report-ready datasets.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 13 years of hands-on experience with:

  • T-SQL (complex joins CTEs window functions dynamic SQL)

  • SQL Server 2016 (on-prem or RDS)

  • AWS RDS (instance setup scaling backups monitoring)

  • SSIS (control flow data flow scripting tasks deployments)

  • Solid understanding of relational database design normalization and indexing strategies.

  • Experience with source control (Git preferred).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication able to explain technical concepts clearly.
