What We Mean by "Advanced SQL Server"
You have real, hands-on experience with:
Advanced T-SQL (not just SELECT statements)
Query performance tuning and execution plans
Stored procedures, functions, indexing strategies
Understanding how SQL Server behaves under load
Troubleshooting data issues that don't have obvious answers
If your SQL experience is mostly theoretical or tool-driven, this won't be the right fit.
You're comfortable working independently and managing your own priorities
You take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks
You think before you code — and your solutions reflect that
You're curious, methodical, and persistent when problems get tricky
You communicate clearly, calmly, and professionally (especially when things aren't going perfectly)
You don't need constant direction — but you value good collaboration.
3–5+ years of professional experience working with SQL Server
Advanced proficiency in T-SQL (this is mandatory)
Solid understanding of relational databases and data pipelines
Experience supporting production systems in Windows environments
Comfort working across VMs, VPNs, and customer environments
Strong self-management, prioritization, and follow-through
Degree in Computer Science, Data, Math, or related field (or equivalent real-world experience)
Experience with Power BI or paginated reports
Exposure to compiled languages (C#, C++, Java, etc.) Preferred
Why This Role Is Different
You'll have real ownership, not constant escalation
You'll work with leaders who value clear thinking and good judgment
You'll grow into broader responsibilities over time — development, consulting, or leadership paths are real
This role is designed to be mastered, not churned
Career growth isn't a buzzword here — it's expected.
Final Word:If you're the kind of person who likes to own the problem, understand the system, and deliver clean solutions — this role will feel good.
If you're looking for step-by-step instructions or light SQL work, this is not right for you.
