Detailed Job Description:

The SQL Test Lead is responsible for defining the testing strategy for enterprise-grade data systems. You will lead a global team of testers to ensure that data migrations, ETL processes, and database schemas meet strict business requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

Define the scope for Unit, Integration, Regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Collaborate with DevOps and Data Engineers to ensure test environments mimic production scenarios with high-quality, masked test data.

Identify opportunities to move from manual data checks to automated SQL validation scripts to increase coverage.

Write and review sophisticated SQL queries (Joins, Subqueries, Stored Procedures, and Window Functions) to verify data transformations.

Lead the team in verifying that business logic applied during the ETL process correctly aligns with the source data.

Utilize tools like JMeter or LoadRunner to ensure the database can handle peak loads and concurrent queries without latency.

Manage and mentor offshore and onshore testing teams, ensuring tasks are aligned with sprint goals.Own the defect management process in JIRA or ALM, ensuring bugs are caught early, analyzed for root cause, and re-tested upon fix.

Standardize QA methodologies (Agile/Scrum) and implement industry best practices for data warehousing.

Must Have Skills:

Mastery of SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2. You must be able to debug complex stored procedures and functions.

Deep understanding of Data Warehousing concepts (Star/Snowflake schemas, Dimensions, and Fact tables).

Proficiency in JIRA/ALM for tracking and Selenium or specialized data testing tools for automation.

Experience working in both Agile/Scrum and traditional Waterfall environments.
