Sr SQL Server Developer

Requirements

Must have:

- We need 10+ years of experience working for U.S.-based companies in the United States.

• We need 4+ years of recent banking experience, ideally since 2018.
• We need recent experience delivering Level 3 support at the highest support tier.
• We need experience working in a global team environment with database sizes of 30TB or more.
• We need experience supporting large-scale enterprise application environments across multiple data centers.
• We need at least 10+ years performing general database administration tasks, including database implementation, code deployments, backups, and user account setup.
• We need 8+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
• We need experience handling Functional and Application DBA responsibilities.
• We need at least 8 years administering advanced database features such as clustering, encryption, logical or physical standby, ETL, and replication.
• We need a strong background in performance tuning for database servers and SQL code.
• We need 8+ years in a SQL DBA role supporting multiple databases and SQL development issues.
• We need proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2014 through 2022.
• We need exposure to SQL Server 2025.
• We need hands-on experience with SSIS package creation and debugging.
• We need experience developing and tuning stored procedures.
• We need exposure to data replication.
• We need the ability to work on site, as this role is not remote.
• We are seeking candidates with citizenship or green card status.

Responsibilities:

- We will have this person identify the top 10 most resource-intensive queries each week and recommend performance improvements.

• We will have this person design indexes for existing applications and decide when to add or remove indexes.
• We will have this person troubleshoot slow-running queries by refining SQL or adjusting indexing strategies.
• We will have this person lead SQL Server lunch-and-learn sessions for application developers.
• We will have this person advise developers on efficient database design, including tables, data types, stored procedures, and functions.
• We will have this person write and optimize SQL Server T-SQL queries and serve as the in-house go-to resource for T-SQL questions.
• We will have this person design tables and select appropriate data types.
• We will have this person use Profiler traces and related tools to identify the most frequently executed queries.
• We will have this person use tools such as sp_BlitzIndex and DMV queries to analyze index usage.
• We will have this person provide on-call troubleshooting support for SQL Server service outages.
• We will have this person evaluate whether clustering, log shipping, mirroring, replication, or similar approaches best solve a business problem.

Company:

We are hiring a Senior SQL Server Functional/Application DBA for an on-site contract role located at 26th Street and Madison Ave. This is a 1-year renewable engagement with an immediate start, and remote work is not available. The position supports a global unit and requires deep SQL Server expertise across versions 2014 through 2022, with exposure to 2025, as well as strong database performance tuning and enterprise-scale environment experience.
