Job Description:
Principal Associate for Enterprise Storage team with a focus on support of the backup environment to include: installation of backup agents on servers, configuration of agents, scheduling the backups, restoring data, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification
- 5 years IT experience
- 2 years of Backup Administration experience (CommVault, NetBackup, etc.) and 1 year Storage technical support experience (Isilon, Pure, NetApp)
- Cloud Technologies – AWS/Azure/etc
- Coding/Scripting/Automation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Information Technology
- 2 years of Backup Configuration/Design/Troubleshooting
- 1 year of SAN Fabric and SAN storage
- Excellent technical and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized and detailed documentation skills
- A work ethic with a focus on quality, results and customer satisfaction
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide 24x7 IT operations support in a team on a rotation and on-call basis. Adjust working hours and schedule as needed. Onsite hours Wednesday through Sunday 8pm through 5am.
- Develop and exhibit technical subject matter expertise on the assigned backup and storage systems along with associated processes and procedures.
- Perform change management and incident management for backup and archiving infrastructure. Coordinate, communicate, and execute maintenance activities, upgrades, and patching for monitoring tools.
- Generate capacity reports, performance, trending, incident reports and other related items to enable the delivery of required monitoring solutions.
- Understand and follow IT processes including Change & Configuration, Problem, Incident and Service Readiness and other established team procedures.
- Communicate written incident updates using team standards in a pre-determined time bound fashion to all levels of IT and business audience.
- Assess impacts of issues and ensure proper severity assignment for incidents by researching the business impact via interfacing teams or the acquired knowledge.
- Work with 3rd party resources (onsite or offshore) in both staff augmentation and ASP models and represent their services to the business.
- Prepare and present incident and other service reports on a periodic basis (daily/weekly/monthly) based on predetermined deadlines and events.
- Develop an understanding of project engagement processes (Service Readiness) and partner with project teams on Conditions of Satisfaction deliverables including support documentation.
- Provide support for new systems and projects and implement the tools to enable the ongoing support.
- Ensure Support Guides and related documentation is up-to-date.
- Regularly identify and implement improvement opportunities.
- Able to work from home including facilitating incident calls, monitoring processes, and able to respond to phone calls from remote sites including home.
- Understand IT and ITO Service Model and how daily activities are related to its defined Services.
- Fulfill corporate compliance tasks including mandatory training and weekly timesheets.
