About the Role The Technical Program Manager, AI Performance is responsible for leading performance-related initiatives across flagship products and emerging AI features. This role ensures the prevention, diagnosis, and safe rollout of performance improvements and involves collaboration with multiple teams. It focuses on maintaining and enhancing performance across diverse platforms, impacting the user experience and operational reliability
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-platform performance programs covering desktop, browser, and mobile contexts
- Manage performance metrics such as load times, FPS, memory usage, and AI model inference latency
- Oversee observability and telemetry initiatives, regression prevention, and incident response
- Coordinate cross-organizational forums and planning related to performance and enterprise readiness
- Drive safe rollout strategies for AI capabilities
- Partner with product, platform, performance, and support teams to resolve performance issues
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in performance engineering, technical program management, platform TPM, or SRE roles focused on SaaS products
- Expertise in load, stress, performance, or scalability testing and build comparisons
- Strong knowledge of web performance metrics (FCP, LCP), rendering/FPS, WASM memory, and mobile profiling tools
- Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS), autoscaling, and capacity planning
- Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, or agent platforms
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of MLops or LLMs involving inference latency, batching, and caching
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Sentry, or RUM
- Background in performance engineering with coding or test harness contributions
- Experience with large-scale enterprise planning and load testing
- Understanding of real-time collaboration systems and GPU/WASM performance constraints
Job level and compensation depend on qualifications, experience, market demand, and work location. Remote pay range may be adjusted to between 80% and 100% of the listed range based on location. Equity and additional benefits included.
