Technical Program Manager
Job description
Duration: 6–9 months, with potential extension
Location: Fully remote
Pay Rate: $80-95/hr ABOUT THE ROLE
We are standing up a new internal identity security program and looking for a contractor who is equal parts security architect and technical program manager. This is a greenfield initiative with a detailed design already in place — your job is to own it, refine it, and drive multiple engineering teams to ship it. This is a hands-on technical leadership role.
You will be the person in the room who can both critique an identity architecture and run the cross-team coordination to deliver it. WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Drive Phase 1 delivery end-to-end — from design finalization through production deployment
- Own cross-team coordination across 4+ engineering teams
- Maintain and evolve the technical design — architecture decisions, component integration, API contracts
- Define and track the program plan — milestones, dependencies, risks, and blockers
- Lead technical discussions with engineering teams — you will need credibility in the room
- Work directly with security and compliance stakeholders
- Produce clear written communication for engineering leadership on program status WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required
- Experience with PKI — certificate lifecycle, CA hierarchy, CRL/OCSP
- OAuth 2.0 / OIDC knowledge — client credentials flow, mTLS client authentication, JWT
- Experience with secrets management and certificate authority tooling
- Familiarity with Non-Human Identity (NHI) and workload identity concepts
- Familiarity with IGA platforms and identity governance practices
- Proven track record driving cross-team engineering programs to delivery
- Strong written communication — you will produce architecture documents and leadership updates
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity — greenfield program, not a defined playbook Strong plus:
- Experience with SPIFFE/SPIRE or workload identity frameworks
- Kubernetes and cloud workload identity experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Background in regulated industries where machine identity compliance is mandated
- Prior experience migrating services off unmanaged credentials at scale Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term disability insurance, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits and 401K plan. Our program provides employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.
Disclaimer: These benefit offerings do not apply to client-recruited jobs and jobs which are direct hire to a client
