Role Overview:

Program Managers play a pivotal role in driving key Product and Engineering initiatives towards successful launches.

This Technical Program

Manager will be an important member of our Apps and Experience Technical Program Management team, supporting new features and managing the release train for our Web clients as well as E2E technical program management for key initiatives. You will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Program Management, Apps and Experience.

This is a Hybrid Position located in either Waterloo or Toronto, Canada. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to either location. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis; when not working onsite, you will work from your home office.

About the role:

  • Own and drive the release management process for the Web client resulting in quality product releases.
  • Manage issues and risks, create mitigation plans, escalate to appropriate stakeholders and produce program reports for management.
  • Own all planning activities (Web releases and assigned initiatives) across multiple project/program teams, including quarterly planning. Manage critical path dependencies, change management and drive key decisions with stakeholders.
  • Empower the team to operate more efficiently by defining processes where needed and removing or improving existing ones that are not working.
  • Interact with engineering, UX and product leaders as well as key stakeholders to prioritize and execute Product, Platform, and Marketing strategy.
  • Manage a wide set of stakeholders, ongoing communication of the right content to the appropriate audience (technical as well as non-technical).
  • Customer obsessed mindset with a focus on quality user experience with robust Consumer workflows.
  • Maintain urgency by ensuring there is strong collaboration within multiple parts of the organization who may have competing priorities.
  • Drive accountability and ownership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing programs with geographically dispersed teams.

About you:

  • 7+ years of technical project or program management experience in driving consumer-centric applications and experiences.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex technical efforts.
  • 3+ years of experience using project/portfolio management tools such as Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, VersionOne, Asana, Monday.com, ClickUp or Smartsheets.
  • Strong technical orientation and solid understanding of Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).
  • Demonstrated ability to work through ambiguity to detailed solutions.
  • Experience developing processes where little exists and demonstrated flexibility to get things done with global teams, especially working around time zone challenges.
  • Detail-oriented and able to understand the bigger picture by using your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities to prioritize and manage blocking issues.
  • Focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and results.
  • Excellent leadership skills, time management, organization and facilitation.
  • Excellent written and oral business communication and people skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills with the ability to articulate concepts and rationale to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

The starting pay range for this position is $131,385.00-$177,755.00. McAfee takes into consideration an individual's skillset, experience and location in making final salary determinations. For further details, please discuss with the Talent Acquisition Partner.
