Test Engineer

• Participate in requirements gathering sessions and converts requirements into comprehensive test scripts
• Perform functional, integration, system, regression and/or performance test.
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using approved tools
• Write and execute API and Webservice Tests using Java libraries, Junit,TestNg
• Evaluate software performance and current test methodologies, recommend process improvements.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into comprehensive test scripts.
• Manage defects and collaborate with development staff to resolve issues.
• Plan and estimate testing efforts in collaboration with project team.

Quals Education/Requirements/Technical Competencies: 7+ years' experience with software development and/or testing 4 year college degree (preferably computer software related) or equivalent 3+ years' experience creating and executing automated test scripts Hands-on experience with Unit, Integration, UI testing techniques.

(Required) Experience testing Java based applications (Required) Experience with Selenium - webdriveror similar automation tools (Required) Experience with relational databases and writing SQL queries (Required) Experience working on Teams committed to AGILE principles and concepts (Required) Knowledge of fundamental testing principles, concepts and techniques (Required) Experience with Object oriented programming in Java (Strongly Preferred) Experience with Behavior (BDD) and Test Driven (TDD) development/testing concepts (Preferred) Experience in developing feature files using Gherkin syntax/cucumber tool.

(Preferred) Strong interpersonal, analytical, and customer service skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong team player and self-starter Proficiency with knowledge transfer/collaboration with other automation engineers * May require occasional extended hours for testing new systems, problem resolution, and completion of priority projects (Required)
