Education/Requirements/Technical Competencies:
6+ years' experience with manual software testing (required)
4 year college degree (preferably computer software related) (preferred)
2+ years of automated software testing (preferred)
Knowledge and experience using various testing tools that include but are not limited to: Quality Center (required), Unified Functional Test (preferred), Selenium (preferred), Sprinter (optional)
Experience developing and executing test cases (required)
Experience with relational databases and writing SQL queries (required)
Must demonstrate knowledge of fundamental testing principles, concepts and techniques and have experience recording defects in defect tracking software (required)
Strong interpersonal, analytical, and customer service skills (required)
Detail oriented and strong verbal and written communication skills (required)
Strong team player and self-starter (required).
May require occasional extended hours for testing new systems, problem resolution, and completion of priority projects (required)
Responsible for developing and executing formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications. Involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and test execution. Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status. Collects and analyzes data for software process evaluation and improvements, and integrates them into business processes to address the needs of the business.
Documents all problems and assists in their resolution. Delivers quality process training to technical staff and acts as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners.
Performs quality audits across the various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures and methodologies are being followed.
Organizes and performs various types of testing to include functional, integration, system, regression, Section 508 compliance
Designs, maintains, and executes manual and automated test scripts related to functional, integration, system, and regression testing
Manages defects by recording, reporting, analyzing, and tracking defects to resolution
Consults with development teams to identify, reproduce, resolve and retest defects
Performs database queries and verifies data results
Performs test data analysis and drives the setup and verification of test data
Provides assistance to the test automation process
Participates in requirements gathering sessions and converts requirements into comprehensive test scripts
Plans and estimates testing efforts in collaboration with project management
Provides testing status information to management
