Trading Floor Infrastructure Support

Engineer (Linux/Python Environment)

Location: Manhattan, NY – 4 days a week on-site

Salary: Very competitive rates, based on experience.

Must have a US Green Card or be a USC to be considered for this roleMust have the following :

Linux/Unix administration, L1/L2 production support, scripting (Python/Bash), monitoring & automation, CI/CD, containerized infrastructure, and strong troubleshooting skills in a trading or high-availability environment.Responsibilities:

• Provide 24/7 L1/L2 monitoring and support for globally distributed, mission-critical trading and research platforms.
• Rapidly identify, analyze, and resolve alerts or incidents; escalate when needed to minimize trade flow impact.
• Partner closely with the trading community, development teams, infrastructure groups, and external vendors.
• Oversee automated processes, scheduled jobs, and operational reporting.
• Manage user requests end-to-end, including tracking, approvals, updates, and closure.
• Identify inefficiencies and repetitive manual tasks; drive continuous improvement through automation and better workflows.

Requirements:

• 4 years of hands-on production support experience.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration skills (RHEL/CentOS/OEL preferred).
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting.
• Working knowledge of storage and storage protocols (NFS; GPFS a plus).
• Experience with infrastructure automation (Chef, Puppet, or Ansible).
• Exposure to Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling.
• Monitoring experience (ELK, Prometheus preferred).
• Database administration experience (MySQL or PostgreSQL preferred).
• Container platforms experience (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, GKE, Helm preferred).
• Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, multicast, tcpdump, PTP/NTP clocking).
• Ability to navigate network equipment via CLI.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
