Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical SEO & WordPress Optimization Consultant to review existing SEO and technical audit reports, validate recommendations, implement approved improvements, and support ongoing WordPress site optimization and updates.
This role is intended for an independent consultant or freelancer, not an agency.
Responsibilities
- Review existing SEO, technical SEO, and onpage audit reports
- Evaluate which recommendations should be implemented and identify any unnecessary or risky changes
- Prioritize improvements based on impact, effort, and business goals
- Implement approved technical SEO, onpage SEO, and performancerelated improvements within WordPress
- Optimize site speed, Core Web Vitals, indexing, internal linking, schema markup, and metadata
- Perform ongoing WordPress updates including page improvements, SEO adjustments, plugin/configuration updates, and minor layout or content updates as needed
- Provide clear communication on completed work and recommended next priorities
Qualifications
- Proven experience performing technical SEO work directly within WordPress
- Strong understanding of indexing, crawlability, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and onpage optimization
- Experience interpreting thirdparty SEO audits and translating them into practical implementation steps
- Familiarity with tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Search Console, PageSpeed Insights, and similar platforms
- Ability to clearly explain tradeoffs and prioritization decisions
Engagement Structure
- Phase 1: Paid review and prioritization of existing audit reports (trial project)
- Phase 2: Implementation of approved improvements and ongoing optimization work
