Abby Roper

I am a standing Senior at Indiana University. I am working towards a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising, with a minor in Marketing. I have always taken a liking to the business side of things, and I am going to thrive in this career field.

I plan to eventually work in Chicago. I do not have a specific business that I have been leaning towards; therefore, I am starting to explore my options. I have always longed for a successful life with friends and family.

Once I realized this is what I want to do, I put forth all my effort toward what I am passionate about.

I have over three years of retail experience providing exceptional customer service in fast-paced environments. At A Pink Boutique, I assisted customers with prom and homecoming dress selections by offering personalized styling advice, managing fitting rooms, and maintaining organized merchandise displays to create a positive and confidence-building shopping experience. At Johnson’s Farm Produce, I supported daily store operations by handling transactions, stocking products, and maintaining an efficient retail environment.

Across both roles, I developed strong communication skills, product knowledge, and the ability to create welcoming experiences that encourage customer loyalty and drive sales.

I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising with a minor in Marketing at Indiana University (expected May 2027). My coursework includes Principles of Retail Merchandising, Intro to Marketing Communication, Digital Age Consumer Insights, Manufacturing & Quality Analysis, Materials for Fashion & Merchandising, Product Development, Digital Merchandising, and Computers in Business, which have strengthened my understanding of retail strategy, consumer behavior, and product development. I previously earned an Associate’s degree in General Studies from Ivy Tech Community College in June 2024.
