Abdimalik Abdirahman

My name is Mr. Abdi, and I have been teaching math in Arlington, Texas, for 21 years. With a background in economics and mathematics, I have lived in various places such as Somalia, Kenya, Djibouti, and now Arlington, Texas. Before becoming a teacher, I was involved in writing African short stories. When I am not teaching in the classroom, you can find me sharing my storytelling skills with my children or embarking on hiking and traveling adventures during the summer.

• Hold Current Texas Educator Certificate, BA in Economics, and 15 credit hours towards Master’s Degree in Math at UTA.
• Instructor of Mathematics for 21 years from Algebra I, Algebra 2, Algebra 3, and AP Calculus.
• Tarrant County College, Arlington, TX Mathematical Instructional Associate, 2001 to 2012.
• Instruct students in remedial mathematics, College Algebra, Trigonometry, AP Calculus, and mathematical principles relating to the fields of Economics and Finance.

I studied Mathematics at the University of Texas at Arlington in the graduate program; I earned 15 credit hours toward my master's in Mathematics.

While teaching, I have partaken in Advanced Placement Summer Institute training for AP Calculus AB.

I mentored new AP Calculus teachers on my Sam Houston High School campus by providing training and assistance with the content.
