I am a Special Education Teacher and higher education instructor with more than ten years of experience supporting students with disabilities across K–12 and postsecondary settings. I currently teach at Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas and serve as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where I prepare future educators through coursework in special education, curriculum design, assessment, and culturally responsive instruction. I hold a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master’s in Early Childhood Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and Elementary Education, along with Nevada teaching licensure and endorsements in Special Education (K–12), Elementary Education, and Intellectual Disabilities.
My professional experience includes developing and implementing IEPs, serving as a Local Education Agency (LEA) representative in IEP meetings, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and collaborating with families to ensure students receive appropriate services in the least restrictive environment. I am particularly committed to instructional leadership, inclusive practices, and transition planning that prepares students for success beyond K–12 education, and I strive to support educators in implementing effective, equitable, and compliant special education services.
I have served in multiple roles across K–12 education and higher education. I am currently a Special Education Teacher at Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas, where I provide instruction and case management for students with disabilities, develop and monitor IEPs, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and serve as a Local Education Agency (LEA) representative during IEP meetings.
In addition to my K–12 experience, I currently serve as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where I teach courses in special education, curriculum, assessment, and inclusive education, and prepare future educators for work in the field.
