Assists other medical facilities to transfer patients to a higher level of care or specialty not offered at their facility, including Bascom Palmer and Sylvester Cancer Center. Assists transfer center representatives and registered nurses to obtain patients' data (diagnosis, current level of care, specialty needed, services needed, etc.). Assists to obtain medical insurance confirmation.

Assists with the communication between referring physician and accepting physician. Communicates case to director of the Emergency room for approval of emergency transfers. Coordinates transfers via helicopter with Nursing Administration, Security, and ER charge nurse.

Communicates with CEO to obtain permission to bring patients promptly when an emergency case is presented and override the protocols needed for a transfer. Revises clinical documents prior to presenting to a potential accepting physical. Recognizes patients who need to be transferred urgently and collects proper documentation needed for patients to return to their original facility after a service or surgery.

Clinical Decision Unit RN at South Miami Hospital & Primary Stroke Center (2015-08 – 2021-01)

Completes assessments, admissions, and treatment of patients with the following diagnosis: TIA, rule out stroke, NSTEMI, chest pain, COPD, pulmonary hypertension, congestive heart failure, neurological illnesses, oncological, and more. Provides care to adults and geriatrics patients in the acute care setting.
