The acronym HYPE stands for Highschool Youth Pursuing Excellence. This group of leaders volunteers in the environment of Christian Youth Theatre (CYT) Austin, ages ranging from 8-18. I was invited and accepted as a freshman and currently plan on continuing through the next three years.
I am learning to be a servant leader in the midst of a society who is self-focused. From writing gratitude letters to talking with younger students about hard things, I am learning to accept responsibility and reject passivity.

I have been cleaning, taking care of the customers, and using my public speaking experience to enhance the reputation of the store. I have also been making numerous drinks, memorizing the amounts of different things to combine and handling food services. I have learned to open and close the store all by myself, managing my time, tasks, and coworkers with utmost respect and kindness.

I have competed in numerous speech events in the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association. This has given me useful skills in communicating with others in a precise and enjoyable way.

My work ethic and frankly my size, (6' 0") have helped to dictate my eagerness to excel, and my willingness to work hard for the greater benefit. In light of the basketball training, strength training, and love for the game, I have learned some valuable skills of working together as a team to achieve a goal no one person could. I have also been awarded the Christ-like character multiple times in my career.
