Hello! My name is Alexandra Lewis and I am a sophomore Writing, Literature, and Publishing Major at Emerson College. During my time at school I have had experience as a Barista and as a Sales associate. Both jobs have helped me gain customer service and cooperate experience.
I am currently studying to work in a communication field so I am skilled in correspondence, creative writing, and editing. As a poet I have self published two books and am consistently updating my blog which serves as a portfolio for my larger collections of work. (alexivorypoetry.com)
In my formative years as a poet and writer I involved myself in community organizations that would help curate my writing and communication skills. I spent a lot of time interning at Project Write Now, a community based organization that focuses on helping students of all ages work on their writing. Through project write now I was able to have the hands on experience of assistant teaching which taught me how to foster a supportive environment for learning and sharing.
I have also worked as an intern for the T.
House, a cultural center that prides itself on sharing that art, writing, and projects of African American members of my home community. At the T. Thomas fortune house I spent time using the various printers, scanners, and other organizational materials to collect and label museum items, soon to be digitalized for website display.

Outside of my educational focus, I also worked at Starbucks as a Barista. My responsibilities included the coffee and cold bars, register, cleaning, and food service. Having a job that deals with both food service and constant customer interaction has taught me to multitask and prioritize customer satisfaction.
Lastly, I was a sales associate at J. Crew before my study abroad in Europe. This job gave me experience on the sales floor talking to customers as well as meeting their needs and suggesting items they might like.
My most relevant education experience is my ongoing time at Emerson College. I am currently a Writing, Literature, and Publishing major and my classes are focused on communication and language skills.
