I am an experienced and passionate educator, life-long learner, and well versed in student engagement and technology. I thoroughly enjoy working with middle, high school and college students, and have a compassionate and mindful approach to mentorship and teaching. I am an experienced researcher, love to collaborate on teams, and pride myself on being a strong communicator.
I have worked as a graduate research assistant for the past three years at the University of Florida, working on projects in food systems, nonprofit organizations, and gender-based violence. For the last year, I have worked as a K-12 substitute teacher, and have the most experience with 6-12, in art, math, and science. Prior to my time in Florida, I worked for two years as a K-12 garden educator for a local nonprofit in Los Angeles.
I have a master of science in family youth and community sciences from the University of Florida, a graduate certificate of public health, and am a certified health education specialist (CHES). I also hold a masters in nutrition science from California State University Los Angeles, and a bachelors of fine art from Otis College of Art and Design.
