Allea Noren

I am finishing up my master's of occupational therapy degree and will be fully graduated July 28, 2023. During my fieldwork, I have been given great opportunities to work in various settings. I was an OT intern at Franciscan Health Olympia Fields, where I got to evaluate, develop, and implement treatment plans for individuals staying in both the Acute Care Hospital and the inpatient rehab.

Currently, I am at Linden Oaks Behavioral Hospital, where I run 2-3 groups a day in an inpatient psychiatric setting. I am using Acceptance Commitment Therapy and a Metacognitive Approach to aid clients in participating in meaningful activities and identifying their values.

In school

• I was the assembly of students delegate for our Student Occupational Therapy Association. I was also a part of COTAD and Alpha Eta honor society.
• I participated in research on the effects of childhood cancer on occupational performance.

I have a strong passion to help people become independent in the activities they need to do, have to do, and want to do. I love working with people using a collaborative model when coming up with treatment plans and goals.
