My name is Amanda LaBlanc. I am a Master's Level Mental Health Professional, currently working on an inpatient Behavioral Health Acute Care unit until finding a more permanent position as a practicing therapist. I hope to focus on practicing with children and adolescents outpatient in the future but, have nearly three years of experience working with adults.
I love utilizing music, arts, and other alternative therapies and believe that understanding and compassion are some of the greatest assets one can have alongside a resilient and unshakable work ethic. Thank you so very much for your time!
For the previous two and a half, nearly 3 years, I have been working as an inpatient Clinical Therapist at Berkshire Medical Center on the Acute Behavioral Health unit. This requires therapeutic skills to counsel patients, run therapy groups while also assisting them with connections to outpatient providers before they discharge from our unit. We must also teach valuable therapeutic skills to help them to manage stresses of day to day life while showing care and understanding in a difficult time.
I have also worked for 1 year as a Behavioral Health Assistant at the Youth Intensive Outpatient Program with teens, helping to facilitate therapy groups and offer support to young adults while earning my degree. Prior to this, I had been a Nursing Assistant in Acute Medical care and Dementia care at an Assisted Living Facility. I also have 5 plus years of Managerial Customer Service experience and over 10 years of customer service work.
I am currently in my final semester with Bay Path University to earn my Master's of Science in Trauma Focused Mental Health Counseling. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Lesley University with a minor in Expressive Arts Based Therapy.
