Former educator and current data science graduate student.
I love working with data almost as much as I love working with young people, and am committed to doing work that builds towards a more sustainable and equitable world for future generations. I am currently enrolled in a data science graduate program and am seeking a position where I can drive change through technology.
For the past 8 years, I have worked in public education. In addition to teaching, I have created curriculum, developed sustainability programming, and facilitated student-led community impact projects. I have seen first hand the impact that innovative technology and data-driven solutions can have on holistic student growth.
The majority of my professional experience is in education. My most recent experience was as a founding advisor at New Harmony High School in New Orleans, LA. While there, I developed a Senior Capstone program where seniors learned project management skills while facilitating a community-based project of their own design.
I also developed an innovative math intervention program for the school as well as sustainability-focused grade level math curriculum. I have 8 years experience as a classroom teacher.
I am a current data science graduate student at U.C. Berkeley. Current semester coursework includes: Applied Machine Learning, Data Engineering, Experiments and Causal Inference. Previous courses include: Introduction to Data Science Programming, Statistics for Data Science, and Research Design. I have experience with Python and R programming languages as well as writing SQL queries.
My undergraduate degree was in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Yale.
