I am extremely passionate about conducting research that investigates and alleviates the effects of social determinants of health.
In addition to administrative experience and my multiple semesters of scientific research, I have a minor in psychology and a passion for health equity that I have fostered through seeking experiences both within and outside of my academic career. I have developed an understanding of how research is conducted and how to communicate scientific research to people with diverse educational backgrounds. I also participated in health equity training and research as an Amgen Scholar at the National Institutes of Health where I investigated health disparities related to race, gender, socioeconomic status, and Alcohol Use Disorders.
I have also attended conferences such as the Black Directors Health Equity Agenda Annual Meeting and have done community outreach as part of my coursework. I have also facilitated multiple trainings and workshops on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
I have five semesters of research experience in multiple fields of natural and social sciences and am currently seeking full-time employment.
Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biomedical science from Alverno College and a minor in psychology.
