HR Generalist at DAP Global Inc. (2019-04 – Present)
Responsible for assisting the HR Manager with approximately 150 associates in two facilities with employee relations, including communication/interpretation of policies and procedures, recruitment and onboarding of new associates, administering wage programs and creating/coordinating company events. Work collaboratively with all departments, including corporate human resources, benefits, finance and plant operations. Provide weekly payroll processing support and support of operational departments at the plant and distribution center.
- Handles some associate relations issues related to area of responsibility. Counsel associates and managers as needed on HR policies and best practices. Assists in preparing disciplinary actions by reviewing documentation to ensure compliance. Develop and maintain a positive and engaging culture. Communicates FMLA and STD information to associates and tracks leave to ensure accurate payment of benefits. Answer associate questions regarding benefits and help resolve any issues.
- Oversee associate building and office access through management of building access cards and security systems. Identify recruiting needs and resources. Screens, interview, coordinate interview process to ensure legal compliance. Submit recommendations and extends offers. Ensures smooth onboarding process by communicating and tracking associate experience for the first 60 days. Back up activities for Administrative Assistant role related to supplies, uniforms, safety shoes and safety glasses and overall activities that are required in the normal operation of an office environment.
- Input all personnel changes and new hire information into Kronos and Oracle. Maintain personnel files for active and terminated hourly associates based on DAP policies and procedures. Complete employment verification requests. Manage pre-employment screening process to include physical exam, audiogram, drug testing, background checks, and I9's. Completes new hire orientation and HR onboarding activities.
- Oversee the weekly payroll for around 150 associates in two facilities. Prepare reports to relevant departments about payroll, company budget and expenses. Function as backup for weekly payroll in the absence of the HR/Payroll administration. Process and track wage progression programs, annual wage review and quarterly bonus calculations.
