Andrew Beltran

I am a young professional in San Antonio with 4 years of experience as a music director. I started college as a pre-med major for 2 years before changing to music. I then became a music director for a high school in my city. I currently have experience performing, playing piano, singing, and music literacy. I am looking for an opportunity to grow more in my field and learn more about different music careers. I try to play video games or board games as much as possible during my free time.

I have been a teacher for 4 years. I have been a school music director, theatre director, yearbook teacher, and music theory/aural skills, teacher. During this time I learned how to organize events, collaborate with others, and learned how to manage a classroom. While teaching I was also a bartender for a hotel in downtown San Antonio. I was a bartender for almost 4 years. I was able to multitask as a music director, theatre director, and bartender.

My education journey started with majoring in Pre-med with a focus on biochemistry. After 2 years of studying this, I decided to change my area of study and double major in Music and Religious Studies. I started working in schools during my junior year of college and was hired during my senior year.

During my time in college, I joined the choir and was accepted into the elite chamber choir. I traveled to New York and to Raleigh to perform with my choir. I also performed in many shows such as Ragtime and The Magic Flute opera.
