Andrew Izzo

I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with a minor in chemistry. My passion is learning about chemistry and applying what I know to a lab setting. I am hoping to secure an internship where I can explore new areas of my favorite subject, chemistry, and discover how I can best apply my talents to suite my passions.

I currently work in a lab in the chemistry department at the University of Nevada, Reno. Our work is focused on the synthesis of inorganic and organometallic compounds and I am responsible for assisting in carrying out these reactions. My experience includes general lab safety training, setting up reactions in clean, inert environments, separating and purifying various solutions and products, and analysis of products via NMR spectroscopy, GCMS, and thin layer chromatography.

I am currently in my sophomore year at the University of Nevada, Reno and am pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with a minor in chemistry.
