- Being charge nurse on the inpatient pediatric floor which includes supervising LPN’s and RN’s, providing staff education, managing patient assignments and coordinating patient care, reviewing patient charts and evaluating medical data, overseeing the pediatric ward and assisting nurses with procedures.
- Precepting new nursing staff.
- Providing palliative care for the hem-onc population.
- Pre-medicating, administering chemo medications, and monitoring patients for any reactions.

- Performing independent, comprehensive assessments of patients upon admission and throughout shift.
- Providing patient and family education on medications and plan of care.
- Documentation patient information using an electronic health medical record.
- Monitor patient progress and patient severity using appropriate tools for age group.
- Facilitate continuity of care through a multidisciplinary approach.
- Educate patients on application of treatment plan, to include medication, risk factors, plan of care during hospital stay and after discharge.
