Engineer - Charter Spectrum

Lead critical infrastructure support for a high-availability campus environment that includes a 50,000-square-foot data center and lab center used for testing and validation, plus continued development of a 120,000-square-foot office, data center, and lab facility. Oversee daily maintenance, installation support, documentation, vendor coordination, inspection readiness, safety governance, BMS monitoring, budget planning, and 24x7 response for power, UPS, cooling, and facility systems. Coordinate across internal stakeholders, general contractors, inspectors, and service partners to preserve uptime, support operational readiness, and maintain disciplined site execution.

• Mission-Critical Operations: Oversee day-to-day care, maintenance readiness, and installation support for critical infrastructure assets including 9 900kW Cummins generators, 9 1MW Toshiba UPS systems, 35 40-ton Liebert CRAC units, 11 40-to-110-ton RTU systems, and 4 40-ton AAON split systems.
• Power Distribution & Uptime Support: Manage UPS-conditioned power distribution supporting a 50,000-square-foot data center and lab testing/validation environment, reinforcing reliable power delivery and operational continuity.
• Outage & Shutdown Coordination: Schedule off-hours operational shutdowns, create MOPs for planned work and events, and provide 24x7 on-call coverage to support safe execution and rapid response in critical operating conditions.
• Safety & Site Operating Rhythm: Attend, lead, and manage daily safety meetings and OAC meetings, ensuring field activity, construction coordination, vendor work, and internal support needs remain aligned with site expectations.
• Construction / Expansion Execution: Served as an integral contributor to a 3-year, $35M expansion project supporting continued development of a 120,000-square-foot office building, data center, and lab environment.
• High-Density Lab Buildout: Created a 12,000-square-foot high-density lab with AB Starline bus power, increasing infrastructure flexibility and capacity for technical testing and validation.
• Permit & Inspection Coordination: Partner with GC OPUS on permit activity, walkthroughs, inspections, and internal/external coordination to support compliant, well-governed project execution.
• Documentation & Controls: Monitor and maintain COMPASS BMS systems, coordinate maintenance records, support operational files, and reinforce documentation accuracy needed for reliable facilities operations.
