Throughout my years as a young child, I always enjoyed watching LEGO commercials on the TV screen and seeing the idea of how building with lego bricks, you can make fascinating objects, such as Darth Vader's advanced TIE Fighter, a large firefighter, a life-size lego sculpture of Iron Man, etc. The possibilities are endless when it comes to making new things. I would even go to the point of disassembling my own lego sets and make my own creations off of those pieces.
This led to my ability to use my imagination and think outside the box more clearly than ever.
Throughout middle and high school, I latched on to any projects that I became more involved with from making peanut butter & jelly sandwiches to feed those in need; to joining the Health Information Project to teach incoming freshman about the importance of health and safety; And realizing my passion for engineering after winning 1st place (alongside my FPL Generator group) 3 years in a row for my SECME club in high school.
My passion for engineering has carried on with me through my education at Florida International University. I am currently studying here as an undergraduate student to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Here there are more resources that are available to me more than I could have imagined when I was in high school.
There's certainly more years for me to learn in order to get to where I want to be, yet more problems to solve, and making sure that I am happy with what I enjoy doing. And for this I am grateful.
