Hey everyone! My name is Arturo Mendez and I'm currently attending the University of Texas at Austin. I'm passionate about everything and anything related to microbiology. Right now, I'm a part of the Freshman Research Initiative (FRI) in the Glow Worms stream, studying and learning about genomic mutations inside of worms and how they affect the rest of its physiology.
I've been conducting research under the guidance of Dr. Stolpner (our research professor). I also have practice over gel electrophoresis, KLD ligation, transformation of plates, PCR, nanodropping, and miniprepping.
As of now, I'm pursuing the Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases with a certificate in Elements of Computing at the University of Texas at Austin.
