Asha Houston

I am an actor/writer from Philadelphia,PA. I went to undergrad in Chicago and studied Acting as well as African and Black Diaspora Studies. I have a deep love of the diaspora and as an artist a deep responsibility to the telling of stories for by and about black people.

My undergrad studies made me fall in love with black feminist theorists such as bell hooks, Audre Lorde and Kimberlé Crenshaw. I am finishing up my MFA in Acting at NYU Tisch and have been lucky to train as an actor and keep my love/commitment to black studies at the forefront of my training.
