About

My job as a shift leader is to supervise up to 32 youths, with various partners. My current assigned post is the mental health unit. My previous post was a male general population unit which is the largest unit on the facility.

I was there for 2 1/2 years. My post before that was a lower level drug unit. I have worked various units around the facility, including the female unit. I have experience in the female temporary stabilization unit, strip searches, & pat searches.

I have worked mobile security around the yard during the PM shift. For my previous unit, I was in charge of placing unit supply orders, youths clothing orders, & hygiene for juveniles. I make sure all paperwork is properly filled out, unit log book is accurate, count tools and sharps, etc. & door lock checks.

I also conduct unit checks on various units throughout the night. For about two months, I have worked the AM shift. This consisted of various movements around the yard. Taking youths to recreation, kitchen, school, and any scheduled activities.

While i was on modified duty, I worked with Human Resources & Administration. I was in charge of filing & scanning paperwork for applicants that didn't get selected. I was also in charge of doing verification of employment and contacting references via phone for current applicants.

With Administration, I did standard paperwork for policy and procedures.
